Initial investigations included lymph node biopsy for diagnosis and histologic classification, physical examination, chest x-ray, bipedal lymphangiography or abdominopelvic computerized tomography scan ; , bone marrow biopsy, and biologic evaluation, including blood count, sedimentation rate, and kidney and liver chemistries. A liver biopsy was performed in case of liver enlargement and or a greater than 2-fold increase in serum alkaline phosphatase level. Clinical and radiologic examination of Waldeyer ring, with a biopsy when necessary, was performed in patients with upper cervical nodes. The installing chapter from Slippery Rock created quite a ruckus that weekend. They were quite the rowdy bunch at a campus dance and managed to engage in a few fights. Then, the next day, it nearly escalated into a riot when an angry mob of Phi Sigs Skulls? ; , football players and numerous others, assented on the TKE house looking to even the score and clear the town of all visiting TKEs. Things were certainly looking quite ugly when the mob entered my room first. Fortunately, my roommate was Frater Jim Dietrich, captain of the wrestling team and one of the most respected men on campus. Single handedly, he managed to diffuse this ugly situation and send the mob on their merry way. So, a rocky start it was. By the way, Frater Jim was finally inducted into the Edinboro Sports Hall of Fame a while ago and pilocarpine.
